Winemaker's Note
We entered Braschi and immediately tried to understand as many things as possible about Tenuta del Gelso, the first group of vineyards which we started working on.
The Costone vineyard is the best exposed because it is located towards the east / south east and therefore benefits from an important sun radiation, mitigated by the "thermal" wind generated by the proximity to the sea.
All these components often make it possible to obtain grapes of great richness in terms of color and aromas together with a stupendous tannin density, perfect for giving complexity and structure to the wine.
The result is a classic Sangiovese with Mediterranean tones, of deep fruit and great consistency. It was also the first vintage of the biological conversion of land.
