Domus Hortae - Italy

The Fioretti family have been vignerons, cultivating their vineyards in Orto Nova, in northern Puglia since 1788. Today Rosanna and Pino carry on this family tradition of caring for their land and making wine from native local varieties. Microclimatic conditions, land that is on a prehistoric seabed, with soil that is part calcareous, sub-alkaline and stone contribute to making structured yet approachable wines. They adopt organic farming principles in the context of integrated agriculture approach and guarantee no trace of chemicals, copper and sulfur in their wines.

It is a monovarietal made by the Minutolo grape, which is an aromatic white grape grown in Puglia, Southern Italy, since 1200. Despite it being made in stainless steel, 'spicy' is a word to describe this white wine. The bouquet is intriguing, with white flowers, lemon and citrus candy and a hint of herbs.
